Transcapt
For Teachers

Turn every lecture into accessible notes and study guides

Transcribe recorded lectures, convert into searchable notes for students, generate subtitles for video uploads, and meet accessibility requirements — without a monthly SaaS bill.

Why Transcapt

Lecture transcripts ready for LMS upload

Upload a lecture recording, get a formatted transcript with timestamps. Paste it into Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, or Google Classroom so students can search and review without rewatching hours of video.

Accessibility compliance (ADA / Section 508)

Recorded lectures need closed captions. Transcapt's SRT export drops directly into YouTube, Vimeo, or your LMS's caption uploader — every recording becomes accessible without extra effort.

Study guides from class transcripts

Students benefit from studying course content in multiple formats. A transcript makes it trivial to generate summary notes, flashcards, or quiz question lists from what was actually said in class.

Pay per semester, not per month

Most teachers record during the school year and use transcription rarely during summer. Transcapt's pay-per-use means you don't pay for the 3 months when you're not teaching.

Frequently asked questions

Can I transcribe a 90-minute lecture accurately?+

Yes. Transcapt processes lectures up to 2 GB file size (which easily covers 90 minutes of video). Expect 3-5 minutes of processing time per lecture.

How do I add captions to my lecture videos?+

Upload the video to Transcapt, export the transcript as SRT. Then upload that SRT file as captions in YouTube Studio, Panopto, Kaltura, or your LMS's video player. Captions will appear synced to the original video.

Can students use Transcapt directly for their own notes?+

Yes. Students can create their own Transcapt account (with the same 15 free minutes) for recording study sessions, interviews, or group projects. There's no educational discount currently but pay-per-use keeps costs low.

Does Transcapt work for non-English lectures?+

Yes. Transcapt supports 50+ languages including Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Japanese, Chinese, and Arabic. Spanish has dedicated LATAM dialect tuning (MX/AR/CL/CO/PE).

Is there a privacy concern with uploading classroom audio?+

Audio files are processed and deleted after transcription (see our privacy policy). For FERPA-sensitive content, redact student names before sharing transcripts. Transcapt doesn't train on uploaded audio.
